This is my second Forbes trip and while I had sworn off doing the long haul down there again in preference for flying Dalby the lure of an aerotow comp in fine flatland flying landscape was too much. I registered for the Sport Class as that is where the Kingposted gliders were supposed to go but it looks like all others in this class will be your intermediate type gliders, Stings, Sonics etc. Though there were a few topless boys who were pushing to get themselves in there also, WTF! I was asked if I would do the A Class to make it fair on the others in Sport Class, I have no problems with that, the only hitch being the rest of my team will be flying Sport Class which could mess up our retrieves a little. Still Vicki has not given me the final word on which class they want me in yet so I will not know until I get there and register. Even if I fly Sport I will probably just try and do the social thing and help the the others out as much as possible, as I have never been very competitive with my hang gliding, in spirit or skills.
Big Jon and Gemma Durand will be joining me for the drive down on the 1st, leaving about 9am or so - a leisurely 11hrs drive but I hope we can march on and make it closer to 10...
